Eva Kimminich
Eva Kimminich is professor of Cultural Studies and Cultural Semiotics at the University of Potsdam, where she holds the Chair of Romance Cultures. She is responsible for the master programs Applied Cultural Studies and Cultural Semiotics and International Applied Cultural Studies and Semiotics. Her main research interests encompass cultural and pop-cultural aspects, particularly youth and subcultures. Current research topics are metaphors as cognitive concepts involved in the construction of reality, conspiracy theories, and right wing internet populism. Combining socio-constructivist and semiotic paradigms, she develops holistic perspectives for her research topics. Recent findings of her research group are forthcoming in September 2018: Virality and Morphogensis of Right Wing Internet Populism, with J. Erdmann and A. Dizdarevic, Peter Lang, 2018.
