Nikola Karasová
Nikola Karasová is a Ph.D. candidate in Contemporary History at the Institute of Social Sciences, Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. She specializes in modern Greek politics with an emphasis on post-conflict transition, extremism, and populism and published several articles related to these issues. She is interested in studying conspiracy theories that emerged in the public discourse of Greek political parties and of the Orthodox Church of Greece in the time of the economic crisis. In this respect, she co-authored a book chapter entitled “Greek Crisis and Foreign Intervention” (2015, with Kateřina Králová, in Czech) about the history of foreign interventionism into Greek politics and the use of “neo-colonialist” discourse during the Greek crisis, and is about to publish an article on conspiracy theories related to the Orthodox Church of Greece.
